Nic Bullivant’s blog about long tours of Norway and other parts of Western Europe follows years of exploring and writing about his native British Isles.
Born and educated in Sheffield, England, Nic started on explorations of the nearby Peak District and trips to Wales and the Lake District.
The opportunity to move to Scotland in 1977 set him on a 40-year career as a countryside Ranger in Fife, Ayrshire and 20 years in the Cairngorms.
Meantime he wrote travel articles about places he visited and kept detailed descriptions of visits to nearly all the Scottish islands and mountains.
Now with great companion, Judith, another former Ranger, they have time and transport to explore further. The lure of the continent has been fascinating them. Their three children all ended up moving to convenient waypoints for long tours in the Netherlands, Denmark and Norway.
