We drove across Germany from near Groningen in the Netherlands, past Bremen and Hamburg on good roads and stayed at a campsite on the German island of Fehmarn. This was a delightful rural place, well defended from the sea by sea walls, which enclose lagoons. Our exploration evening and morning was very brief but we thought we would like to spend more time here on a future visit.
