Scotland again
Full of pride, we savoured the crossing of Carter Bar and called in at an old haunt on the way north.

At Carter Bar
We stayed the night with our friends at Tranent.
Then on…

The Queensferry Crossing.

We realised we hadn’t been to Vane Farm for ages, and as we were just passing… Now known as the RSPB Loch Leven Reserve, it was another excellent RSPB visit. There have been good birding places on the trip, but hardly anywhere else could we just call in and see over 30 bird species in a little over an hour, including osprey, marsh harrier, great white egret and raven. All of these species very rarely seen when we worked / visited here 40+ years ago.
Adventure of a different kind followed, doing shopping on the way north. It’s a long road, but at least it’s familiar. We were home again after 96 days and 14,000 km. We had seen 200 species of birds on the way.
